The philosophy at Castle Toward and Ardentinny is rooted in teamwork, self-awareness and development. We aim to provide life-changing experiences that will create long lasting memories of success that contribute to a young person’s personal and social development.

Our ethos fully supports the Curriculum for Excellence and the majority of our customers such as Woodside Primary from Hamilton, Our Lady of the Missions and St Ninians and many others are regular visitors to our centres. They know that their pupils are in the safe hands of a well-established, blemish free and child-friendly organisation. They also know that we help them to produce young people who are confident individuals, effective contributors, successful learners and responsible citizens.

A number of schools take their P6s to Castle Toward and their P7s to Ardentinny. Castle Toward is a historical building overlooking the Islands of Bute and Arran, where activities mainly take place in its 150-acre grounds. Ardentinny is a smaller purpose built outdoor education centre on the shores of Loch Long, which uses the local area for its activities.

These two contrasting, but complementary centres are perfect if you wish your P6s and P7s to experience outdoor education at its best. Both centres share the same ethos - young people can broaden their horizons through new experiences in a supportive environment.
