Courses

During a typical Monday to Friday residential course at Ardentinny young people will face the challenges of sharing dormitories, helping with household chores and eating together at large communal dining tables. Our courses also offer lots of opportunities for socialising and making new friends - everyone who takes part in our courses will go on a journey of discovery and emerge equipped with new skills as learners, individuals and citizens.

All courses are fully supported by our qualified and experienced instructors. They will use the different activities to facilitate learning in an active and supportive environment. Participants will be encouraged to think positively, arrive at solutions and to be bold, maybe even courageous. Above all, we want everyone to have enormous fun and succeed at things they would never have thought possible before they visited our centre in the West Highland glen of Ardentinny.

When you bring a group to Ardentinny you have four options:

  • Choose one of our residential Personal Social Development (PSD) courses – download a typical residential course here.
  • We can help you to structure your own outdoor education course based on the size of your group, ages, abilities and the number of days you want to spend with us.
  • Design your own course, which we call ‘self-programming’. This service covers a wide range of subjects including music, drama, arts, sports (eg football), field studies, maths, physics, chemistry and biology too - you just bring the tutors (or coaches), materials and equipment you need.
  • For even more variety you could include outdoor activities in your ‘self-programming’ course.

The classroom just got a bit more exciting!

Just tell us: the number of participants; their ages; the activities you would like to do and; the number of days you want to stay with us…and we’ll arrange the venue, accommodation, food and atmosphere. Now you can tell us online.
